Looking for advice on broken marriage!

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

I will try to keep this concise. Wife and I married 8/11/07. About a year into the marriage I confessed having a serious problem with pornography that stemmed from childhood. Spent from November of 2008 until present counseling, reading books, joined a support group, stayed sober from porn, got accountability partners in place in every area of daily life, filters on computers, passwords that only my wife knew,no access to computers without supervision etc…… I feel I have done a very good job in removing that trash from my life and our marriage.

I have been curious about something for a while. Does God see a marriage between two non believers? Also, does God see a marriage if the husband committs adultery?

My husband wrote me this letter explaining his request for a divorce…

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

I recently posted about how my husband has asked me for a divorce. I have been praying with all my heart for our family, and for his salvation. he is currently incarcerated and eligible for parole this coming January, though offenders with his type of conviction are almost never released the first time they are eligible for parole. I have 2 daughters who are not his children.

New marriage plagued by OCD and scrupulosity

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

My apologies go out to you beforehand for this novel I am about to write. I contemplate writing to someone on a daily basis, and I am so overwhelmed to try and reach out to someone, to have hope, to have comfort, to have peace. I write many letters, but never have the courage to send them for fear of rejection, judgment, or a nonchalant response, all of which would possibly send me into a more downward spiral of depression and anxiety.

divorce

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

As I was listening to the program on the radio today about gods words on divorce and remarriage. As they said we try to find ways to justify what we are thinking, feel, just seeking something to validate we are ok to divorce. I feel that I do this. That the major issues in a marriage are sin, selfishness, and forgiveness

I’ve been rude to my husband

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

This is really hard to admit, but over the years I have realized that I say things to my husband the are damaging to him. I’ve often justified my behavior by saying to myself that he does the same thing to me, but two wrongs don’t make a right. The problem is, it has broken down our communication and even though I’ve tried to apologize I feel like we are stuck in a rut. We are both the oldest in our families, he from a family of four and I from a family of eight, and sometimes I think our problem may be that we both are used to ‘taking charge’ and being ‘the boss’ and try to overpower the other one.

I’m needing your help

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

[Note: This is a continuation of our shift posts, one and two .] To begin, I want to send a thank you to those of you who have sent me emails and left comments in support of Simple Marriage and our goal of fundamentally changing the culture of marriage . Your support means a lot. Second, I want to let you in on my thinking about things as we’ve progressed the past week. The response from people has been good, but I’ve got some concern as to how good the response really is

how to deal with an emotional affair & untrustworthy spouse

Tuesday, May 15th, 2012

We have been married less than two years. 10 months after getting married, I discovered that my hubby was having an emotional affair with someone else. He was confiding in hand her and basically expressing how he felt about her(loved her). When I confronted him about it at first, he denied and then when I showed him the evidence, he said it was just a phase he was going through, he doesnt love her blah blah.. We tried going to see a counselor but I don’t think it’s helped us
